Off to ARGFest!
This is probably the weekend I look forward to the most all year. ARGFest has become a time to get together with players and developers from all over the world. This year, it’s in Portland OR, and I’ll hopefully work a lot less hard this year than I did last year (3am powerpoint editing isn’t my favorite thing to do). The best part is being able to get together with all my fellow unfiction.com peeps. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of reports, but as for me, I’m just going to relax and have fun with my friends. :)
Nostalgic ARG definition of the day
Looking through old posts and articles, I ran across this gem that still holds up after 4 years or so…
Part puzzle-infused scavenger hunt, part interactive fiction, ARGs are among the first entertainment forms genuinely native to the Net, culture watchers say. Unlike the online cartoons or games that differ little from their offline counterparts, ARGs…are woven from the fragmented, deeply community-driven fabric of the Web itself.
