Game of the Day: Line Rider

Posted on 29th September 2006 in Uncategorized

You draw a line. Maybe you draw another. You hit the START arrow. What could be simpler?

A great example of beauty in simplicity, with simple user input resulting in much more complex animation and physics. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun….especially if you have a repressed evil streak.

Line Rider.

Payphone Warriors, No Bees in Sight

Posted on 24th September 2006 in Uncategorized

Our old friend Daniel Terdiman reports on CNET about Payphone Warriors, a game played at New York’s Come Out and Play Festival this weekend.

The idea was for teams to spread out around the city and claim territory by calling a central phone number from any payphone they would see. They’d get points for every payphone they controlled.

Sounds like they had a blast, and it’s another nice way to play on payphones, which will always make me smile.

Read the article here.

On a side note, I’m really curious as to how Jane McGonigal’s Cruel 2 B Kind game went.

Zombie Pub Crawl

Posted on 20th September 2006 in Uncategorized

Zombie flash mobs + pubs. Live in Minneapolis? Check out the Zombie Pub Crawl.

Gotta love it just from the FAQ:

Q: Should I bury my clothes now and dig them up for the Zombie pub crawl?
A: That’s a really, really good idea.

The site has tips for makeup, blood, gore, etc. Sounds like a great idea for the coming Halloween season.
