WIRED: Are video games corrupting children, or is history simply repeating itself?

“It goes like this: Young people embrace an activity. Adults condemn it. The kids grow up, no better or worse than their elders, and the moral panic subsides. Then the whole cycle starts over. Here’s how the establishment has greeted past scourges.”

I don’t know why this isn’t obvious to everyone. I also don’t know why so many people can’t seem to remember what it was like to be a kid.

The reason stuff like this perpetuates? People set themselves up to make money off of the issue, and work at keeping it an issue.

Now if you’ll excuse me. It’s time to pull out some old Loony Toons and watch Bugs hit Pete Puma over the head with a frying pan.

Girls who put Mario question boxes in Ohio town won’t be charged

Some examplary students in Ohio placed Question Boxes resembling the boxes in Mario Bros. around town as an art project.

Of course, the bomb squad was called in, as we all know that terrorists will plant their bombs in plain sight in bright orange boxes with big question marks on them.

So we’re all living in an episode of Batman now???

Fortunately, they won’t be charged, in a sudden bout of common sense.
